He is profiled in two recent books: Think and Grow Rich: A Latino Choice and Hispanics in the USA: Making History where he was chosen as one of the 14 Hispanic role models for the nation. His entrepreneurial success commenced in 1997 when he founded and grew a company from 3 people into a multinational firm with more than 50 offices in 7 countries. He was named Entrepreneur of the Year by three different organizations. His company was named the # 8 fastest growing privately held company in America and the #1 fastest growing Hispanic owned business. Yasmin Davidds Yasmin broke ground when she hosted her own television talk show titled “You Go Girl” in which she addressed issues affecting all women…..yet for the first time in English television, it was presented to mainstream America, from a Latina Perspective. The groundbreaking Empowering Latinas: Breaking Boundaries, Freeing Lives, Yasmin’s internationally best-selling book, along with her most recent self-help system, The Latinas 7 Principles, are dedicated to Latina empowerment, as are her tremendously popular keynote speaker addresses. To continue cementing Yasmin as an expert in women issues, she signed an agreement with Atria Books Publisher (division of Simon and Schuster) to publish two books in 2006: “TAKE BACK YOUR POWER: How to Reclaim, Use It and Keep It To Get What You Deserve” and “YOU GO GIRL: Give Your Daughter the Tools To Become Powerful Women”. In Yasmin’s eyes, women all over the world have unique, untapped talents, which have gone unrecognized for too long. Her mission is to teach them to embrace their worth and their talent so that they can improve their quality of life. The Empowering Latinas book is being used as a reference book in university curriculums across the country. Yasmin serves on the Board of Directors for HOPE (Hispanas Organized for Political quality), and is a graduate of their HOPE Latina Leadership Institute. She also served as an influential member of the San Diego State University Associated Council, the SDSU Finance Board, and the SDSU Associated Executive Committee. As a member of the Board of Directors of the USC Mexican-American Alumni Association, Yasmin has been instrumental in providing Latino/a student with over one million dollars in scholarships. In her role as a director for Los Angeles leading radio station Power106’s Knowledge is Power Foundation, Yasmin identifies pertinent issues affecting the Latino/a community and develops programming to address what matters most. Beyond her experiences as the daughter of Latino immigrants, raised in apredominantly Hispanic neighborhood East of Los Angeles, Yasmin has done extensive research on Women, Latino culture and the Latina psyche, with an emphasis on how cultural messages, including issues such as machismo and self-esteem, affect women; particularly Latinas. Having worked personally with thousands of women and men from the executive high ranks of corporate America to the poverty stricken streets of the underprivileged, Yasmin continuously gathers material for her. In the summer of 2006, Yasmin will be devoting her time to the launch of her new book “Take Back Your Power” in which she will visit universities, organizations and corporations throughout the country. Yasmin is a resident of Los Angeles, where she is the single mother of her pride and joy; her six-year-old daughter, Divina. |
